ART-Envi ECHO© Technology as a Key Component of Modern Chinese Refineries
The delayed coker — and with it, ART-Envi’s ECHO© technology — has become a critical unit in modern Chinese refineries.
It enables the economically viable processing of heavy residual feedstocks, - increases product yields, and is an integral part of new refinery configurations. Without a delayed coker, a high-performance, modern refinery in China is now almost inconceivable.
Although delayed cokers process fossil-based residues, they contribute to:
- reducing waste streams,
- improving overall refinery efficiency,
- maximizing the utilization of available crude resources.
The use of delayed cokers in China continues to grow due to:
- the ability to process lower-cost heavy crude oils,
- strong demand for petroleum coke and gas oil,
- reduced need for residual waste disposal.
New refinery projects are typically designed with delayed coking units from the outset, while existing facilities are increasingly being retrofitted. Modern units comply with significantly stricter environmental and emissions standards compared to legacy cokers.
In this context, ART-Envi’s ECHO© technology plays a pivotal role. It enables the decoking process to be carried out with zero emissions, driving growing global interest in this patented solution.
